More Quilt Market

Drinking coffee by the gallon here to make up for the coffee I missed at market. It's DELICIOUS. I'm going to just run through my photos and load them up. There are so many wonderful photos on the KPKM channel I don't feel so much pressure. Be sure and check it out. I just got lost in the blog posts, blogs I haven't seen before, wonderful. I'm going for simple and sweet here. Seriously the links are what will wow you.

Speaking of sweet, here's Angela who keeps us going over at the Moda Bake Shop. This was her little area, where she had bake shop goodies for attendees to admire.

Here's our friend Mary, Mary's Cottage Quilts. We were cracking up, she strikes that pose everytime we see her! As usual she has some lovely offerings.

Tula Pink and her darling mom Kathy. I'll have another picture of Jen to share later. Hil-arious!

Here's Kate Spain showing off her new line with Moda, Verna. Very pretty and I know we'll all be clamoring for it come spring time! Nice to meet you Kate!

The darling Fat Quarter Shop girls! We had a little meet up by Moda and passed off the new Late Bloomer Quilts pattern covers. (up on the website soon!)

Polly, Laurie and Kate in the Minnick and Simpson award winning booth! Bar Harbor wowed me with its big floral focus fabric. Love it and totally love Laurie and Polly!

Speaking of some wonderful stuff, on that same block Sherri and Paul were busy as bees. I can't wait for Spring Market it Minnesota. We're going to be hanging with these two plus other wonderful Minnesota peeps.

Here are Barb and Mary from Me and My Sister designs! Nice to be chatting it up with them this market! Their darling booth shows up on many a market photo so be on the lookout.

Here's the delightful Anna Maria Horner, her lovely daughter Juliana and baby Roman. She has some wonderful fabric premiering this market. People were wowed by the textured panel.

Elizabeth taking a break on the little bed in Joanna's booth. Now look at that sweet photo of Joanna below. Set up day.. she's always busy.

Ahh another favorite, Rosalie Quinlin. She's so completely darling and it was nice to spend some time chatting it up in the booth featuring her new fabrics for Lecien.
We loved working with her fabric, Grandmother's Flower Garden and Elizabeth's quilt At Home in this range is winging it's way around the world as we speak!

Of course I had to get her new book!
More favorites, here's our sweet friends Tamara and Jackie and their friend Lisa.
Ok, plenty of more photos to come, don't you worry!!!

HOME from Quilt Market

Good morning peeps, how are you? I'm glad to be back home drinking coffee and relaxing here. It was a wild trip and I'm going to pace myself getting back to it. I want to start off with this though, because O-M-G.

Lizzy House, with some inspiration from her mom Cherri, made us an Armadillo Cake. Look at this baby! I can't get over how thoughtful it was.

A lot of fun people came by to share this cake with us and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed and was touched by the whole experience.

He was amazing with his red velvet interior. And the creamy cream cheese frosting under that fondant, amazing. I still can't believe she made it, you know that fellow took some time!

Here's Lizzy again showing off an adorable dress made with her latest line of fabric, Red Letter Day. Thanks again Lizzy, you're completely cute.

On the local news front, our friend Lisa Stone of Quilt Bug Patterns had her first booth at quilt market this year. We were happy to see her and Dale, her husband there. We worked with Lisa at the local shop for a long time.

Here's Quilt Bug, she's the 'voice' of Lisa's cute fall themed book The Adventures of Quilt Bug and her Pumpkin Patch Pals. Congrats Lisa!

I have a lot of market photos, so I'll be working on those today! Stay tuned. And talking about staying tuned, click on the radio button to go to the list of people posting about market. You'll find a lot of amazing posts about market.
Ok, I've had one wonderful cup of coffee and I'm ready to go get another and get busy! Missed you peeps! xo

Patchy Pouch

Good morning peoples. How was the weekend? I was busy busy with all kind of stuff including some picture taking with Elizabeth.

Here's how the purse turned out. Its a fancied up version of one of my new patterns, The Patchy Pouch. It's very easy to sew, and has patchy goodness on both sides. I added some rick rack between the two sections and a little cherry applique from Diaso. I also dug through my stash of goodies and found a cute cherry handkerchief. Honestly, you know I wouldn't normally have been able to cut it up, but I had two. IT'S A SICKNESS. I'm sorry, I said it. I had a backup.

One thing I really like to do is add my little PKM labels into the seam. If it doesn't match up, then I put it inside, just because it makes me happy to see it. You can make your own little ribbon with some stamps or order some from Namemaker. I also put a cute little chunk of coordinating ribbon in there, and that's fun even if you don' t have ribbon with your name on it. It serves no other purpose than to make me happy.

Thanks to everyone who's taken a KPKM button and/or signed up on the Linky list. I think it will be fun to see all the posts from market. Thanks again to Monica for helping me make that happen.

Elizabeth and I leave Tuesday morning about 4am. HOLY SMOKES it's early but I know I probably will barely sleep it's so exciting. Follow along with us on Twitter, and of course we'll be blogging along the way too. (but seriously, maybe not the first night. it's a long drive to our first destination!)

Ok, see you soon.. xop

p.s. There have been some questions about getting the radio button on your blog sidebar. I only know that if you're using new blogger you go to the layout area, select add a gadget and then select the html/java script gadget and plop the code from the little box into the text area and save it. I tried it out on a test blog and it worked. If you don't have blogger.. sorry, I have no idea how to do it.

Radio Free PKM

That Monica is a genius!! She suggested that instead of adding all the wonderful posts I find about Quilt Market manually (and maybe missing some), I should use a Mr. Linky widget so everyone can add their own link. And of course because she's fabulous, she created a cute button for it!

I'm not kidding, she's a genius. Is it cute or what? And that's my little Moda Bake Shop quilt in the radio window there!

If you'd like a little radio button, copy the code in the box below, and presto, you can have one too. (lets hope its presto... I'm not a genius at this!)

For quilt market posters, add your Quilt Market post(s) URL into the Mr. Linky box along with your name and you will be added to the list of Quilt Market Bloggers!

Ok, I know its early, but I wanted to get this all straightened out before we leave. I hope that if you are posting about quilt market, you come here and add your name and market post info to the list so none of us miss a single thing.
Still time for one more post before we leave!
p.s. Yes, Monica did make my Twitter button, sorry Monica, I should have mentioned that before.

Quilting in the Garden on TQS

The Quilt Show has a nice video of the Quilting in the Garden show. Now you can enjoy the show without the 100+ temps they had that weekend! There's a sweet picture of Joanna and her little ones towards the end. The quilts are beautiful and the setting is as amazing as usual ! Enjoy!

Yikes

Good morning from the back yard people. How goes it? Spent yesterday toiling away getting odds and ends completed, and with household stuff. I'm going to be gone quite a few days, need to have things in order you know? The mornings have been cool, and I've loved that. I mean super loved it. These are classic coffee out back mornings.
Finally picked out some fabrics for my last bag. That took forever. I hope the construction phase doesn't take this long. Ok, I've got to get a move on. xo

What day is it?

Good morning people. How goes it? Just plugging away around here. Need to do some topstitching on this bag. I'm not a topstitching genius like Carrie, she really does a nice job. I used fusible fleece and dang it, it has that wrinkled up stuff going on. I need to try and steam it out, but so far, its not cooperating. Anyway, this is some Lakehouse and some Lecien fabric, both from last market. The strawberry is a light canvas weight fabric so it made a nice sturdy bag. What I really love about both Lakehouse and Lecien is that they go with so many other fabrics. They're great additions to my stash.
Ok, lots of non-sewing business to take care of today. Better get busy. Have a good day peeps.

Suddenly

So yeah, yesterday it was just like you guys have been talking about. Fall, overnight. One day its 116 in your driveway and the next you have to put on a sweater. BUT I'M NOT COMPLAINING. Not one bit. Still working on market stuff. Hope you guys are good. Gotta run, xo

Psycho Saturday

Ok, that's not what I called it, that's what the USA network called their Law and Order Criminal Intent marathon but hey, with temps like these, you feel a little psycho. Seriously. The temp in my driveway Saturday. Shocking that 103 on Sunday would feel a little like a relief. More shocking, temps in the 70's Monday.
This among some other small things done this weekend. Lots to do, very little time left. Hope you guys had a good weekend. It was Quilting in the Garden and you can check out the daily blog at the Quilt Show and the C&T blog for photos!
Ok I better get busy. xo

Inspiration

More inspiration from my box of Lecien fabric joy. Nireko really knows how to keep me motivated! These pieces from the 30's collection are wonderful.

Yesterday I used these in a new bag called the Patchy Pouch. Its super easy to make and I think it will be a handy bag to carry. Today I need to write up my basic instructions for Elizabeth, she'll turn them into something everyone else can understand.

Hope you have a good weekend peeps. Keep cool!

At last.

I don't even want to say how long this took. But isn't this new Lecien thirties print adorable. I'm loving it in every colorway. I almost couldn't cut into it, you know, in case I used it up and it was gone, or I ruined it. Or something else crazy.

Today on to something else. Another bag or something. Gotta keep moving forward. Hope its all good with you guys.

Busy

Hmm I keep thinking I forgot something.

Required Reading.

I'm studying up for the trip. Any places for great antiques and shopping along the way? Things we must see? We've gone to some fun places around Houston, but would love to hear about new places we haven't been. Country Home and Country Living have been teasing us with Texas antiques for years, now that we have the time and the transportation, we'd like to see them. I notice our timing is completely off for Round Top or Canton Trade Days.
Anyway, it's sewing time as usual. Hope you guys had a fun weekend.

Guess what!

Wonder what Elizabeth thinks?

Tie one on

Just a quicky this morning, here's the apron I made earlier this week. Man I could not love this fabric more. Its part of the Lecien 30's collection. Its good in all colors. Have a good day happy peeps!
For those who've asked, apron pattern available here.

More Fabric

Trying to work out of my normal color way with this wonderful little pile here. I love this so much.
But I have to get to work. Just more Lecien goodness brought to you by my box of fabric happiness.

Scramble

I'm scrambling around here this morning trying to get some stuff done and get ready to go to the fountain of youth. You know the salon. Sorry, I always have to say that and I hope you just learn to put up with it. Because really, it is exactly that. This is old lady country. No time for artful photos but yesterday Elizabeth passed on the box of pure Lecien goodness to me. Holy cow, I almost had a heart attack with the cuteness. Above Caramel town. Below Lovely Punch. But really, it should just say Pamkittymorning loves Japanese stuff. Because seriously. Yeah.
This is one of my favorites, its from the New Old Fabric line. I'm loving the white as well, and using the blue for an apron. More on that when it's done.

Here's a pile of pink. Really crappy shot but honestly, I need to get this show on the road but I also don't want to dissapoint my peoples.

That's just a small portion of what was in the box. I'll work on more photos later. Nicer, better quality. But I don't have an assistant. I mean I AM the assistant. Holy cow... gotta run. xo

Weathering the Weekend

What a weekend people! Saturday morning it was all about lightening and thunder! It was just crazy. I haven't seen OR HEARD storm like that in ages. Finally, some real weather.
It was a wonderful weekend for sewing, and believe me, I was sewing most of the weekend on Elizabeth's latest. Ohmygosh I love this cheery project even if there are a lot of leaves.
Last night it rained and rained. And we lost power for a couple of hours. I slept so well, Bret woke up sometime and turned off my bedside lamp. Holy cow, sleeping with a lamp on, that's good sleeping my friends.

Have a super day. It feels like fall. Well, ok, maybe it just looks a little like it. xo

Friday

So its Friday, I don't know where the week slipped away to. It was an exhausting week for some reason, and I'm glad it will be behind me. Today I'm kicking it up, gotta do some grocery shopping for my neighbor, then head to my mother-in-law's to pick up some stuff then its blanket stitching time. I have the blocks and believe me, it looks like a lot more leaves than was previously mentioned. But honestly people, CUTEST THING EVER.
So have a great weekend peoples. I'll try to be back bright and early Monday with some kind of jibberjabber. But its CRUNCH TIME. xo
