Jubilee

Not sure what I'm more excited about, my new Cath K. Jubilee Mug or my new iron. That mug is cute, and although small, I think a fine addition to my mug collection. I am always envious when I see vintage Queen related stuff in magazine and blogs, so I decided to treat myself. I totally deserve it right? And even if I don't, I HAVE IT!

My old Rowenta was leaking like crazy and I needed steam to work with fusible interfacing. Fusible and I aren't really friends so I need the best possible working arrangements. Not sure I love the color or the crazy weird shape but it works and steams like a dream. And if I don't love it, I'm sure it will start leaking in a year and I can get a new one right? Sadly that's the way things go. I've tried other irons but I love the nice sole plate on a Rowenta. I hate it when the iron drags on my patchwork and scrunches it up. Gosh I'm a whiner!

Ok peeps, hope you're having fun! xo

You absolutely deserve to treat yourself. To both the mug and the iron.

Good luck with your fusing!

I'm into the queen myself. I want to watch the iron lady this weekend if I get time. That is sorta queen like. Speaking of iron lady...I love a new iron. Then you're so right, the bloom is off the rose and it starts to leak. I think they do that on purpose so we'll buy a new one. Just like everything else.

Love the Queen mug! I bought a Fiona Howard Will and Kate mug for myself that is awesome! I recently purchased the best Rowenta! The Fashion Week Mercedes Benz model. It is beautiful and has the best steam I have ever seen! Totally worth every penny. Have a good week!

I love my Rowenta! Mine is about 8 years old and still going strong, yeah! It was a splurge at the time but it was so worth every penny. Yes, we all deserve to treat ourselves to just me things!

I know you drink a lot of coffee but how many mugs do you actually have?

Curses. I had to hop right over and get the mug and a little tea towel. Have to celebrate in queen style.

I have three leaky Rowenta irons in my closet. What is it about them? I do love the sole plate and the very pointy tip on them though. Saw that same iron at Costco today and might just have to go back and make a purchase. Mug is fine - you so deserve it!!

...and they just don't make things like they use to! Some things in life we cannot live without, two are coffee and good irons.

Hey, got me some PKM fabric on Monday! LOVE it!!!!! It is sooooo sweet and sooooooooo soft!
Went to Sac to find it, too.

You do deserve to treat yourself. Quilters and sewers have to have a good iron and leaking is not acceptable. I have two Rowentas. Both started leaking after a year or so. For about half what a new one costs, I sent them back to the manufacturer and you know, after several years now, they don't leak.
I love all your mugs and like someone else asked...how many do you have? Inquiring minds.

I always thought it was just my purchases but maybe Nanette is right--they're designed to leak so we have to buy another one. Grrr. NOTHING worse than a spurt of brown water on ones' fabric!

I am an iron snob. I love Rowenta too. I have always had them at home and now I have them at school too. They do leak after a while, but they see heavy use at work. I do love a HOT iron with clouds of steam. I love your fabric designs. Happy fabric...

OHEMGEE - I have been eyeing that mug!!! I keep telling myself to get it, otherwise I will live with the same regret that I didn't get QE's Diamond Jubilee mug on her visit to the Pacific Northwest when she was in Victoria - and I did not buy the mug and I HAD IT IN MY HAND when I was in Victoria a few days after her visit!

THANK YOU, I'm going to CK right now and order it even it I have to eat beans and rice for a whole week to do so.
