Sparing the Air

This week has been chock full of Spare the Air days, and I've stayed home.. well till today. I needed some black rick rack (and out of this house) so I ran out for a couple of errands all close together, all close to home. I hit the book store and oh my heck. Did you see this? Because it's a glimpse of my idea of a dream kitchen. It made sitting in my sewing room with the lights off all worth while.

I get the idea of a "spare the air" day...but what does it entail? and is it "policed" or just up to everyone to do the right thing for the planet...?

I'm so glad Lorraine is asking these questions, as I too was wondering what this really means.

We'll hit 90 probably today in Iowa, but it should be breezy so that will help.

It would be a good day to stay inside, but the girls have their 15month appointment.

Pa, here in Ohio we will hit 90 too...but we have Geothermal so..we don't use near the energy as conventional cooling so I keep it at gasp...70 degrees!..I definitely feel lucky let me tell you

I'm dreaming of kitchens, too. My problem is staying with the kitchen original to the house...a kitchen I'm not all that much in love with.

More glimpses of your dream kitchen, please?

What kitchen, where? Give me a glimpse.

Hey lady....make your own bias tape. i know you can do it!!!

I'm madly in love with the kitchen from the movie "Something's Got to Give". There was an entire post over at Cote de Texas. As soon as I finish the 1,200 sq. ft. tiling job in the basement, and remodel my bathroom, I'm going to rip the kitchen apart.

Go check it out.

I was being all environmentally conscious and feeling eco responsible and grown-up and energy efficient and helping Mother Earth and setting a good green example and composting and recycling and zero phosphates and keeping all the lights off and... and... and...

Eff that! I'm hopping in my car and the A/C cranked and gonna drive fast and not maximize my errands into one organizational trip and go to Safeway to get that one item... Romantic Homes so I can see your dream kitchen. And I'm jonsing your strawberry glass, and will drive until my tank runs dry until I find me that too.

I was so gaga over the glass... I didn't catch what was under it! I LOVE IT!

Isn't our air quality horrible? Living in the Central Valley is like living in a fog lately. Terrible. At least it was a bit cooler today.

Love the new Romantic Homes magazine. The vintage cuteness is beyond wonderful!

Have a great weekend - indoors or out - but I think indoors is still the best ticket right now.

The CA relatives are in town this week and were mentioning the fog and spare the air days. They are enjoying a cool-off in our Michigan heatwave.

Dear Ms. Morning:
Thanks for adding me to your sidebar. I have spared some air in your honor. I also already owned that issue of Romantic Homes.

I hate that every time I see that magazine I really feel I need to buy it. It's so thin though. Lovely. I better check out that issue!
