Uptown by Moda

Nothing makes us all happier than new fabric. This new line by Moda is so nice, it compliments some previous lines, like Tiddly Winks and has that new hip look that seems to have hit the scene. (hit the scene?.. geez Pam get a grip on yourself.)

I love the birds in the paint-by-number looking fabric. It's all unwrapped now, and put away. I'm waiting for this line, Summer in the City. There was quilt at market that was wonderful, and I'd like to make it.. it was kind of a string pieced affair. That's the hard thing about working in a store. All the possibilities.

I can see why a lot of you make things to sell. I love making things, but don't always have an outlet for the projects I make. I have finished and unfinished projects all over the house. And I mean all over. And not everything I make is something I want to keep forever, I just want to get a taste of it. I love fabric.

What are you working on?

Working in a fabric outlet would require me to get a twelve step program...I would be working for fabric, not cash...bad, bad, bad!!

I bought some of this at the fabric show I went to and just got it in. LOVE IT. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I am kind of wishing that I had bought some more of this line, now that I see it here on your blog.

What would you be selling if you had an outlet?

Me too, I love the process of making things. After that, I either give them away or they sit in a shelf, or get put on some chair where someone can drag it from place to place.

I just bought some of these. I'm thinking a skirt and a shirt, mixing patterns. I also would love to make a baby quilt out of them, and maybe a dress. I love the "Bob's shirt" one.

I can't believe how fabric styles have changed. Some of the new stuff I like & some will take some getting used to. A couple of those fabrics actually look like linoleum to me. Well, especially in the plastic wrap. I guess I will always be a vintage girl.

I just ordered 8 yards of that uptown fabric! I was so excited when I saw the line. It is really unique - especially the paint-by-number.

By the way, I just found your blog and I am really enjoying it.
