Customers and Kits
Pretty cute fabric huh? We just put this kit together last week. It's for an Atkinson Designs quilt from the Happy Hour book. I think everyone will know who gathered this fabric together, it's in my favorite color grouping, red/blue/yellow with a bit of green. Turns out it's my last kit there, as of today I'm off the schedule. I can't work the required full day and while my knees will thank me for it, it will seem a bit weird come next week, when for the first time in probably 12 or so years, I won't be working in a quilt shop. The last almost 6 at In Between Stitches.
That being said, I'd like to thank all the wonderful customers for making my time there really great. Everyone has been so friendly and inspirational. Thank you to everyone who came from great distances to meet up and say hi. Big hugs to all my local people who come by every week and share their projects and progress with me. I'm moved by your friendship and generosity. That's what I'm going to miss! Big hugs to all of you.
Ok bloggy peoples, I hope you have a great weekend, see you HERE next week.

You have no idea how much everyone will miss you at the shop! We were just saying in my class yesterday how much fun it is to see you there. Maybe we can arrange to meet for lunch again, once your knees are rested and Elizabeth is done with her studio!
I'm so sad to hear about this. I can't believe the shop wouldn't move heaven and earth to keep you on the schedule. You will be missed!
OH no! Wassup? It can't be good? Unless you have a better gig!
(((hugs)))
Little door closed, big door open. Big effing gianormous mammoth door waiting for you. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
I can't imagine IBS prospering without you. A very sad day for quilters near and far. But on a personal and very selfish level... I'm so happy to have more of you now!!!!
It's Next Level time!! We'll have a blast and you'll be kept very busy. LOTS of people will be missing you tho!

Well Miss Pam, I guess I can cross "stopping in at Pam's quilt shop" off my list of things to do on my way south next month. I don't know what's going on but I DO know that only good things will come to you because you are one super terrific talented kind and generous gal. The world awaits you!
I agree w/others, one door opens, another closes! But how fun for you, more time to do EXACTLY what you want to do....more time w/friends...not a bad thing from your knees standpoint, either!
Hugs, my dear!
don't be sad.. a chatty little bird told me they didn't even give out christmas gifts. other doors will open ... if they haven't already!!! :0
Can I say, as a marketing gal, that was a mighty poor move by the quilt shop. Mighty poor.
But remember your Psychic Lotta reading? You have to make things happen. Maybe this is a catalyst for you to do something else? Sell your own kits?
WHAT??? I can't believe it! You could have warned us so that we all could have swarmed the shop on your last day! : ) Emma will miss you, she asked for you when we were there after Christmas. Good luck with whatever fun projects are waiting for you, I am sure that there will be lots!

Wow! Well, knowing you (LOL) I'm sure you'll have more than enough to keep you busy! Wishing you great success on your next venture!
WOW- the end of an era, ha? They are going to miss you!! Hope your knees feel better (because I do think you are the bee's knees!)
Love that red fabric on top. I'm starting my first quilting class on Mon. YIKES!
xoxo
I love the fabrics that you chose. Which pattern are you making from the book? If I lived in your area, I'm sure I would be upset that you were leaving the quilt shop. Good Luck and keep on quilting!!
A new chapter awaits you! Just relax and enjoy the journey. :-)
I just discovered your blog recently, and I love it! Sorry to hear about having to leave your job, but I understand about the knees, I'm looking for a change in career myself, for the same reason. Best wishes in whatever you do, I'll enjoy reading about it!
12 years in a quilt shop? You must have quite the stash! I'm bummed though, we have been planning a trip out there in March, and I was excited to stop by and say hello! Darn it....
Wow. I'm so sad to hear about this. That shop is going to seem so empty without your cheerful face.
Sorry that you won't be working at the shop anymore, but you are so talented.....there is a lot more fun stuff just waiting for you. Turn the page and move forward. Things are going to work out great!
I'm sure you are going on to bigger & better things. Guess we'll have to hang out at your house now instead of the shop !?!
What a wonderful, colorful kit. I love it!
Sorry you'll be moving on, but maybe it's for the best at this time in your life. And like you said, your knees will be thanking you.
I just found your blog and wanted to stop by and say hello. I'll be back for a visit soon.
I'm so very sorry this happened. I had been planning on stopping by and introducing myself as I love your blog. I guess I could stop by and ask, "where's Pam?" I had a very similar situation happen to me years ago. I was devastated as it came out of left field. Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise. God was moving me on to bigger and better things. Deep breath. You have LOTS of friends.
Wow reading these comments you have so many people who love you and appreciate you. More sewing time I say.
I always say that things happen for a reason. Something better is waiting down the road for you. Plus your knees will be a lot happier and you will feel better :)

Well. My goodness. Ok then. Let's just say that now when I go over to Livermore, it can be to have lunch with you. Let's do it before too long, what do you say?
I didn't know you were having problems with your knees right now! I'm so sorry. Maybe this will be good though, now you can just relax into being the customer.
Hugs to you my friend!
