Good morning! Happy Monday and all that. Did you have a good weekend? I hope so. I had plenty of sewing to catch up on, so I was pretty busy with that. Lots of odds and ends done, behind the scenes boring stuff that needs doing but just isn't blog post worthy. My one question is, when did MS Word get so fancy? Holy cow, it had been a long time since I cracked that open and wow! I just have barely enough brain cells left to figure it out!
So did you notice that Camille has the Sundae Scallop Sewing pattern available? I'm pretty sure I had that pdf downloaded before she clicked enter on that pattern! I loved those scallops so much. I've already got a little kit ready for myself when I have a free moment since we're on pre-market lockdown. I'm going red and white for my first bag, with my little cherries for the outer bag and the Recipes for Success print on the inside, with lots of red and white scallops. I'm only scalloping in one side but I think it will still be cute. I didn't have any linen laying around, so I am going to fuse some interfacing onto my outer fabric to make it a little sturdier. And holy cow I can't believe I could actually find that cherry zipper pull from YEARS ago. It seems so perfect!
I have things coming up on the horizon that I can't wait to share. Hope you have a great day my sweet little raindrops!

Friday
Good Morning! How are things with you? A busy week for me, but today I'm home drinking coffee, sewing and running errands. So many things need doing you know?
Holly's Picnic Grove quilt arrived back from it's photo shoot at McCall's.. it's in the May/June issue available now. It turned out really wonderful, it's so colorful and vibrant. You can find a kit for it over at the Fat Quarter Shop here. Want to see a better shot you can check out Holly's photo on instagram or head over and see it here.
I've missed meeting up with you for coffee, but it's going to be worth it, Holly has been working so hard on the next installment of Pam Kitty Fabric. (eek! so exciting) Between that, walking the dogs and spoiling me with delicious lunches she's one busy gal. I can't wait till we can share it with you.
Ok, have a great weekend superfriends. xop

Monday
Good morning buttercups! After a nice sunny weekend we're moving into a pattern of clouds and rain, and I'm so happy about it. I've spent the weekend running around doing the usual chores and sewing.. Lots of fun sewing. You'll have to wait a bit, but I hope it's all part of the fun of pre-market season.
As usual I'm headed over to Holly's this morning. What's on your agenda this week? Anything fun? It's a week of working and sewing for me. What are you working on? I feel a little behind the times since I haven't been peeking at blogs. I hope you'll fill me in.
Ok, better get busy! xo

Tuesday
Good morning! How are you today my little chickadees? I hope Monday didn't pose any problems! I had some quality sewing (and unsewing) time yesterday. Super sewing day with NCIS: LA on all day! I love tv and I don't care who knows it!
Just about done with my little bag. The strap is too long so I need to shorten it and then I can throw all my stuff in it and call it good! I need to make some adjustments on the next one, make the flap just a smidge narrower, the rick rack took up the space that makes it flip right past the D rings. I also need to somehow make the sew in magnet (that's inside between the lining and outer bag) more effective. The magnet isn't strong enough to hold the flap down. Oh details! I guess they're weak enough not to demagnetize our credit cards but not strong enough to hold our bags shut. But, I think it's pretty cute because I love scallops and gingham and well sewing and playing around.. you know. If I never use it and just hang it off a doorknob I'll be happy.
Hope you're happy today! Happy Tuesday! xo

Seeing Green
Good morning! Are you wearing green or will you get pinched? Probably moms and grandmas of little kids are wearing green, right? I remember back in the elementary school days when the leprechaun left gold coins and festive hats were a regular occurrence.
I have to rerun this photo of Frankie that I posted on St Patrick's Day back in 2008. It still totally cracks me up and is a favorite! I think that is on of my favorite old patterns that I made many times with sleeves, without sleeves, bows, no bows.. you name it. Isn't sewing fantastic?
Looks like it's perfect timing Cathy! Email me your mailing address and I'll get the panel and the magazine in the mail to you! Thanks everyone for leaving comments!
Ok, get out there and pinch some people! xo

Thursday
Happy Thursday people! I had another nice stay at home day. I took the opportunity to work on my bee block for Amy. She's a rebel, and she asked for us each to make the letter of our first name with the instructions from the Spell it with Moda blog hop. She already has Renee's block, you can see that on Amy's blog.. Very clever Renee.
My favorite quilt that was made using those letters was by my instagram friend Yardgrl60. I love all the cute blocks that she added to the alphabet, it really made the quilt special. My "P" was pretty easy to make and it went fast.
Because we had such a nice day, I pulled some weeds and enjoyed the sunshine. I have other sewing projects in the works, and I can't wait to show them to you. I love sewing. I just wish I had a better attention span instead of starting and stopping and wandering around.
Today is going to be a busy day, so I'll just say happy weekend in case I don't make it back here tomorrow morning! I hope everything is going your way! xop

Good Morning!
Good morning! We're at Wednesday already can you believe it? We've had some pretty wonderful weather here, and I just can't help but feel happy with the all the sunshine. I know so many of you are still in the throes of winter and I'm so sorry. This was my view Monday out the window at Holly's. That old looking ship is one of a pair that sails back and forth across the bay. I love working over there, the views are spectacular, the company great and oh my gosh the lunches people. Yum.
I've been wanting a smaller purse so I started working on an idea. I got as far as the pocket with the scallops so far. Who doesn't love scallops, and they're everywhere. Wanna see something adorable, check out this bag on Camille's instagram feed. Everyone is hoping for a pattern, can you blame them?
I keep forgetting to mention my iron. A lot of you have wondered how I like it. I'm not crazy over it like so many people but it's a good iron. I don't know why I feel like I need to withhold my love for it. It has a nice smooth sole plate that glides easily. Although it doesn't get as hot as my Rowenta, it doesn't leak. So far. I am neutral on the lift system. Wish they could make it silent, that little noise it makes lifting sometimes drives me nuts. Maybe I'm just a crab. I'm in the minority, most people super love it. Would I buy another? We'll have to see how long this one lasts. Do I love the color, YES. Is any of this helpful information. PROBABLY NOT. Sorry.
Maybe I'll sew more today, or maybe I'll be at the studio... not sure yet. Hope you're having a good week. I hope you see some sun wherever you are! xo

Meow It's Monday!
Good morning! How was your weekend? I'm happy about daylight savings even though there's a bit of adjustment ( just a bit??? ha!) I'm happy for the chance to have a longer sunnier day!
One of the things I did this weekend was find the McCall's Quick Quilt's Magazine. Here's a nice picture of Holly's quilt courtesy of McCalls Quick Quilts.
My kit is all ready for me to start sewing. Would you like a chance to win a copy of the magazine and a panel to get you started on your own quilt? Leave a comment and later this week I'll pick a name.
Ok, lets all plan on having a good week!!!Happy Monday!
P.S. Fat Quarter Shop has kits for the whole quilt, you can find them here.

Shamrock Season
YAY! It's Shamrock Season. I don't know why but I love these plants so much and watch for their arrival at the market starting the end of February. It's a short season and they come and go fast. I treated myself to two this year. Sometimes I can get them to live a full year, the plants from last year petered out a couple of weeks ago. I put the 'remains' out in the garden just in case the pips are dormant. Unlikely though.
Any big weekend plans? Just the usual here. Hope you have a good one. xop

Things to do.
You know how much I love to make myself kits. Actually I liked it a lot when Elizabeth used to make them for me, because I'm lazy like that... but in a pinch I can do it myself. Anyway I cut myself a kit for Holly's Kitty Cat Picnic quilt that is in the April /May McCalls Quick Quilts. You can grab a peek at it here.
Fat Quarter Shop is carrying kits for the Kitty Cat Picnic quilt, and you can find it here! I borrowed Holly's copy till I can grab my own, I'm not sure it's out in shops yet, I went to two places and couldn't find it. It can't be long now.
Hope your week is full of happy things. xop

Things that are cute.
So what did you do with your Tuesday? I had a great day staying at home and catching up on things that needed doing. Trip to the market, take care of some paperwork, work on some future-fun-projects, that kind of thing.
Then when I was done I rewarded myself with a read through something cute! Have you seen Lori's new book Great Granny Squared? It's adorable.
Back to the studio today! Lots going on, can't wait to share it.
p.s. The cutest fellow was watching us eat lunch on Monday, click HERE to link over to instagram to see him.. he's the cutest.

Rainy Day
Good morning... another gloomy rainy day here but that's fine with me. I love the rain. The hills surrounding Livermore have greened up considerably with this rain, and its so nice to see. Sad that it's taken till MARCH to become green! Jeepers, can you believe it's March already?
My little crab apple is confused, only one branch is leafed out and blooming, the rest just have the beginning of buds.. maybe it didn't want to risk it with our unpredictable winter, self preservation.
No point in even bothering to try and get a good picture here at the dungeon. But I like how my Liberty Road quilt turned out, I need to get the backing together and drop it off at Diana's to be quilted. I liked working from my photoshop layout, I didn't need to worry about mixing up my blocks and rows, I could just glance at the digital layout. It was a good sewing day Saturday, NCIS: LA all day long! I was trying to think of what to start next but what I really need to do is finish up that basket quilt. Honestly. I'm the worst.
Busy week ahead at the studio. What's on your agenda? Did you have a good weekend? xop
