Protective Bubble

Good morning peoples! How was the weekend? I'm dying to know if you went out and what you did. I stayed home, didn't leave the house at all, I mean even step foot out back till Sunday.Weird, right?

Anyway, I got some awesome mail from my friend Melissa. She made me this darling pincushion. It started out in May when she made a pillow from Jennifer's book Girl's World. I fell in love. Then she had to kick it up a notch and make a darling pincushion, using the same technique as the pillow.

OH! You want to see it without it's protective bubble? I love how she's used the darling little stripe off the Pam Kitty panel around the center of the pincushion.

I just love it.It's almost too cute to stick pins in right?

Ok, later this week, sewing progress! You won't believe it!

That is one sweet pin cushion, and I agree it is too cute to stick. In my daughter's hands I know it would be a comfy dolly cushion. What a dear, pretty gift.

You have to stick pins in it that is it's purpose in life and besides if you use it you will get to look at it every day! Maybe it will only get stuck with the pretty pins...

Very cute pin cushion. I went to JoAnn in Dublin on Friday at 6 am. I went for the $5 a yard batting. I usually stock up. My only black Friday shopping. Happy cyber Monday.

What a lovely gift! You must be a very good friend to get such very good gifts from your friends!

My weekend started with a three-hour trip to my brother's town that was flooded out in August. Very few stores are open and the gas station just opened this weekend. So sad to see the hardware store selling items from a picnic table because they lost everything.

Did some Shop-Local shopping up there because they need the money way more than my town. Yes, it was a quilt shop!

Back home to sing with the community chorus at two nursing homes and now to write my Christmas cards.

Happy Sewing Everyone!

WOW ! That is one cute pincushion !!!!! .......and I'm trying to remember if I left the house at all this weekend .... ummmm ..... oh yea ..... threw my sneakers on with my sweats to run to the store for milk ..... hoping not to run into anybody I know .... but of course, I ran into 2 moms of my kid's friends (and they thought I looked bad early in the morning when I would drop Evan off at the bus stop or at school !! - so now they know that my bus stop outfit is the same as my Saturday run to the store outfit !)

I LOVE the pin cushion!!! The book is on my list of things to order next week. Love it, too! The stripe around is perfect.

I wasn't going to set foot out of the house, especially on Friday, except I suddenly had to get a new sewing machine. Luckily, those stores weren't crowded.

I did just like you. There was no way I was going anywhere during Black Friday weekend. I went to my mother's finally on Sunday, which is only 3 blocks away. From what I have been hearing here it was a mad house. I love the pin cushion, I love the fabric.

Protective bubble? Best post title ever! We had just the right amount of getting out of the house and staying inside for minimal crankiness. Always a balancing act!
