If I Could Turn Back Time

In this episode of Hoarders.. oh wait, sorry, didn't mean to type that! I was cleaning out my closet the other day, thinking about quilt market and shoes, I'm sure a topic on a lot of people's minds. I love shoes.. and apparently I love hoarding shoes, because back in the dark nether regions of my closet I found my box of Keds Pennants. I've been 'saving' them. I've had a couple of pairs, but this last pair I just couldn't bring myself to wear. Because you can't get them anymore and if I wear them out they'll be gone. Possibly forever. So I got to thinking maybe they still make them which means I could order another pair, you know, backups. (Now don't they look like something Laurie would love? Who knows, maybe she's hoarding her own pair.)

I was searching around online for a suitable substitute and found these, PF FLYERS!! They're the original action shoe! Had to own them. Growing up if we had tennis shoes they were PF Flyers, run faster, jump higher! Holy cow.

And now for your viewing pleasure today..

Ok, I'm going to go do something. Have a good day Action Friends. xo

Thanks for bringing back those days this AM.. I am off tomorrow to spend a long weekend with my cousins and brothers. We spent the summers swimming and bike riding together and never going home until the street lights came on.

I owned a pair of the keds and loved those shoes. Funny, I was just remembering that exact pair the other day. I wanted my son to get a pair and he told me that if I liked them so much I should get them for myself so I did! I loved those shoes! What size are yours? Do you want to sell them?

Oh my holy cow, Albert Chung! Dying over your PF Flyers!!!! My fave shoes as a kid, especially since they made me run faster and jump higher. Dying to see what other shoes make it out of the closet... Saltwater Sandals? Swedish clogs? Go-go boots?

Thanks for the video clip and trip down Ave de Memory. That was awesome!!!

What a spectacular blast from the past with even a mention of PF Flyers. Mentioning "Hoarders" got my attention too, I'm sorry to say.

I must be sheltered -- never heard of PF Flyers. When you find a good pair of shoes, it pays to buy back-ups. And other colors. It nearly kills me to wear my Red Riding Hood/Camilla Engman Converse...they're starting to get dirty too. Love those shoes!

Awww... you had me with your first sentence! WHO, after all, are the biggest hoarders of ALL of not quilters??? I have actually been at a national seminar, working on a project when not actively teaching, and have had students ask if they may have all my scraps if I was not keeping them!
LOL, now I DO buy some wonderful fabrics... but I do NOT keep my scraps... so I have become very popular!

I loved the Keds Pennants - had a leather pair, and canvas ones in both navy and white. Unfortunately, mine are a little worn and don't look as nice as yours.

Johnny needed to learning some texting abbreviations to get his message across quicker! He could have just answered back "K!"

Ah man! I wanted flyers--I had to wear ugly, corrective shoes. Scarred me for life. LOL

Oh my gosh - Johnny Quest! We have a retro cartoon channel here in CT, and Frannie, my 9 year old daughter, is really into the Flintstones - can't get enough of Pebbles and Bam Bam! The Flintstones was the very first television show I viewed in color. How about that?!! What's old is new again.
