Faux Fall
Albertson's says its fall.
Not much going on here.. sewing away on some things to be revealed later, when more finalized. The weather has been hot, and we have some raging fires going in Gilroy and up in the foothills that have been filling our sky with smoke and covering us in ash. Air quality is very poor here, so hard on everyone.
It's back to school night already, the neighborhood is filled with cars. I can tell how full the middle school down the block is based on how far up our street the cars are parked. Looks like this year its pretty full, they're beyond our house. The dogs don't appreciate it and Rocket is constantly letting me know about it. Sigh, no wonder I have a headache.
Hope you are all happy and settled into the fall feeling everyone is talking about. I'll look forward to it in another month.

I am with you on that one, who wants to buy a half baked pumpkin that has been sitting out in the 95 degree sun??? YUCK!
Can't wait to see what you've been up to!
went up to park city monday - saw a few trees with the leaves already starting to change. It makes me sad... the official end of summer.
sorry it's still 95 where you are, that is unplesant.

yesterday looked like fall round here, but it didn't feel like fall! i am actually ready for fall to come. I've been planning out Halloween party and am pretty excited about it!
Sorry to hear it's still so hot where you are. Thankfully, it has cooled down a little here in NC. Low 50's night before last! I hope you get some relief soon!
Speaking of half baked pumpkins, when we lived in Florida you could only buy your pumpkin about 2 days before Halloween because the darn things rotted so fast.
Here in MO I can start buying them in 2 weeks or so. Wooohoo.
We have Faux Fall here! LOL
So sorry about the haeadache. We have been covered in ashes up here too...wonder if its the same fires pestering our air quality too? Hope you feel better soon!
Our Albertson's doesn't have any pumpkins yet, and I'm glad because I don't think I'd be able to resist! Can't wait for the cool weather!!
Hi Pam!
Wow and to think I have been complaining about our high 80's! September is orchard month around here. All of the apple orchards open and there is nothing like fresh apples, cider and cider doughnuts. Planning to go this weekend and put some pictures on the blog next week.
Have a great weekend!
Sadly enough, here in the Northwest we've had a strange little Summer where we've just now started to expect sunshine... ;) The leaves are already beginning to change here and there. Go figure! Be careful out there with that yucky ashy air.
urgh! Albertson's is dumb! 95...bet you're gettin pretty sick of that! You're welcome to visit up here in the land of 55 degrees any time! :-)
eeeeuuuuuwww, so all you have to do is cut off the top and scoop the pumpkin right into the pie shell. I suppose they sit in the fields when it's hot...but I'd hate to be the pumpkins on the bottom layer of that pile up.
I am definitely not feeling the fall yet. but it's not as hot here as it is for you.
I'm so sorry you are having to live with such poor quality of air-you have asthma which must be much worse during the fire season. I hope some strong breezes sweep away all the smoke and ash.
Good lord. I'm suckign on a cherry popsicle as we speak, and you blog about pumpkins?? Albertsons is seriosuly gettigna jump on the seasons arn't they.. though I have to admit- I have been comtemplating my halloween costume....
I have all my pre-fall decorations out. Sort of a "late summer" scheme. In a couple of weeks I will drag out the real deal, and festoon the place with harvest wreaths and fall table runners. Don't you just love to decorate with quilts and change them out with the seasons? I still need to sew the binding on my lastest fall quilt!
Albertson's is wrong. And not for the first time. PW does not have their pumpkins out--it's a better store. With a cute pumpkin-haired checker, even. Not that I'm biased or anything.
WOO HOO!!! I love fall. There are pumpkin patches here in the Midwest all over. I can't wait to get home and buy a punkin. It was 67 when we pulled into the hotel tonight here in Iowa. I love it!!! We saw the fire on tv tonight. How awful. That ash is gross. Wear a mask. LOL!! You know, like Michael Jackson. I'm sure Melissa wont mind you wearing it to work. Hubby say's hi.
Fall is amazing and George is starting to stay outside much longer now that the cool air is moving in..In fact its time to walk the bugger...all my love, Jennifer
I'm having tiny little hints of fall up here... wish I could send you some! There is an alternative, and that's what I-5 is for.
I hope the babies do better soon. :-(
Hi Pam!! isn't that crazy, my little guy saw those pumpkins when we went to the store and we are now in full holloween costume planning mode. And the smoke! Thankfully it's gone. For days we had found dustings of ash on our cars. Ughh. Little guy and I stopped by the shop the other day but you weren't in. :( We have to go back soon he was bummed that Harley wasn't in. lol! That pooch has a lot of fans. See you soon!
