Faux Fall

Albertson's says its fall.
My car thermometer, at 95, begs to differ.
Not much going on here.. sewing away on some things to be revealed later, when more finalized. The weather has been hot, and we have some raging fires going in Gilroy and up in the foothills that have been filling our sky with smoke and covering us in ash. Air quality is very poor here, so hard on everyone.
It's back to school night already, the neighborhood is filled with cars. I can tell how full the middle school down the block is based on how far up our street the cars are parked. Looks like this year its pretty full, they're beyond our house. The dogs don't appreciate it and Rocket is constantly letting me know about it. Sigh, no wonder I have a headache.
Hope you are all happy and settled into the fall feeling everyone is talking about. I'll look forward to it in another month.

Sorry to hear it's still so hot where you are. Thankfully, it has cooled down a little here in NC. Low 50's night before last! I hope you get some relief soon!

Speaking of half baked pumpkins, when we lived in Florida you could only buy your pumpkin about 2 days before Halloween because the darn things rotted so fast.

Here in MO I can start buying them in 2 weeks or so. Wooohoo.

Hi Pam!

Wow and to think I have been complaining about our high 80's! September is orchard month around here. All of the apple orchards open and there is nothing like fresh apples, cider and cider doughnuts. Planning to go this weekend and put some pictures on the blog next week.

Have a great weekend!

Sadly enough, here in the Northwest we've had a strange little Summer where we've just now started to expect sunshine... ;) The leaves are already beginning to change here and there. Go figure! Be careful out there with that yucky ashy air.

eeeeuuuuuwww, so all you have to do is cut off the top and scoop the pumpkin right into the pie shell. I suppose they sit in the fields when it's hot...but I'd hate to be the pumpkins on the bottom layer of that pile up.

I am definitely not feeling the fall yet. but it's not as hot here as it is for you.

I'm so sorry you are having to live with such poor quality of air-you have asthma which must be much worse during the fire season. I hope some strong breezes sweep away all the smoke and ash.

I have all my pre-fall decorations out. Sort of a "late summer" scheme. In a couple of weeks I will drag out the real deal, and festoon the place with harvest wreaths and fall table runners. Don't you just love to decorate with quilts and change them out with the seasons? I still need to sew the binding on my lastest fall quilt!

Albertson's is wrong. And not for the first time. PW does not have their pumpkins out--it's a better store. With a cute pumpkin-haired checker, even. Not that I'm biased or anything.

WOO HOO!!! I love fall. There are pumpkin patches here in the Midwest all over. I can't wait to get home and buy a punkin. It was 67 when we pulled into the hotel tonight here in Iowa. I love it!!! We saw the fire on tv tonight. How awful. That ash is gross. Wear a mask. LOL!! You know, like Michael Jackson. I'm sure Melissa wont mind you wearing it to work. Hubby say's hi.
