Complaints with a side of Sewing

We're into the complaining season so I think you can count on complaints every day its supposed to reach near 1oo degrees or above. I'll try to keep it at a minimum. I know that's kid stuff weather to some of you... and I'm talking about you MARY.. but still, its not pleasant.

Yesterday I actually accomplished something, besides complaining. I stitched up a few bow ties and did some junk around the house. Intended on leaving for the market but Bret volunteered to bring home dinner so I took him up on his offer. Today he'll be late, I'm on my own. Better get out while the getting is good, its really heating up out there.
I'm trying to get better with camera settings since some people are setting the photography bar so high. This reminds me of CSI where sometimes the whole scene is blue.

Ok, lets see, what else? Oh, yesterdays lunch with green beans in the sandwich was courtesy of Nordstroms Cafe Bistro at the Valley Fair Mall. I would think all the Cafe's have the same menu, but I could be wrong. Anyway we have a long history of lunching at Nordstrom so it was fun to go back. Thank goodness she's moved on from the All American Hot Dog lunch.

That just about does it for today peoples. Hope you're keeping cool where ever you are.

Your coffee mug looks like it's floating! Lets hope for the return of fog, soon!

I agree - I did a double take on that mug - I thought, how did she do that? Maybe you really are CSI!

Here in Ohio right now it is wonderful - 76 and NO humidity - that is what kills me.

Happy Day!

Well I hope you have a/c sister, that's all I'm sayin. We had heatamundo a couple weeks back, bad juju.

I thought those might have been green beans on the sammie.... thx for confirmation. I bet those would be quite the yummy addition.

Stay cool and remember, getting into trouble only makes one hotter. I do not know this from personal experience.

That little cupcake print is adorable! How did I miss that?!? . . . (don't answer that. . . I miss a lot!!!)

I didn't get out to do my errands earlier this morning. . . so now I get to do them in 100+ degrees. Good thing for AC. Whew!
Hope you have fun - 'inside'!

I hate to do this to you but it's just beautiful here in the midwest today. 77 degrees with a light, cool breeze. You can come here anytime and @#$# about those high temps. I can't stand heat!!! I'd rather take the 40 degrees below zero than those 100 degree temps. I will listen, I will stand by with a cold compress. 115 degrees is just insanity. I experienced that once in Arizona - no more. It was 105 degrees at 4 o'clock in the morning! I know, because I was CAMPING in ARIZONA in the SUMMERTIME. At that point in time I wasn't very big on brains. HA.

Green beans on a sandwich sounds odd, but I'd be willing to try it.

Try to keep cool Pam.

Back in the day when I lived in the same city as you, only 10% if the homes there had air conditioning. We were told that it didn't get hot enough to warrent having it. Yea, like what planet were they from? It's going to be hot today here, also and in fact, it already is. We're taking the boys to Monterey tomorrow. I'll think of you while I'm there. When I'm hot, I'm crabby! In the Hot Garden with Miss Crabby Jean!!!

We lived in the Houston TX area for over 7 years... so I know how those hot days are... but I always said at least it's not like winter up north (we used to live in North Dakota) where the winter temperatures and windchills are life threatening (40 BELOW zero and lower). Now we're back north in Minnesota... and I stand by my reasoning...cold is worse! Trust me, I'll be the one complaining come January!

Sorry about your heat. I start whining and complaining when it gets above 85. Luckily we rarely get into the 90's. We have finally lost our rain and it is a beautiful summer here. I need to remember these days when it's January and I'm in my complaining season which lasts until April, by the way!

Sorry I'm so late to this party ... it's because I was actually DOING stuff today, as opposed to just complaining about the heat and feeling totally justified in doing NOTHING.

Thank you for acknowledging that my complains ARE justified. For the record, it's supposed to be 115 again today. Yesterday was just a paltry 113. I chose to wear a light sweater.

I would give anything for sunshine. Rain, rain, rain is all we've been getting. Great for quilting, but come on! A little sunshine would be nice. Seriously, though, I love your blog, it makes me smile every day, complaints and all.

I would certainly take some of your hot weather. Here on the east coast it is going to get into the 40s tonight. Great sleeping weather. But we have barely made it out of the 70s all summer. Don't get me wrong, I like it especially since it is a big change from the rain we have been having. Enjoy your sewing.

I sure hope it's cooled down a wee bit for you guys. It's 7:30 and the weather app on my google desktop says Elk Grove is still at 102. So my deary, I'm a complanin' right along with you. This is not fun for us Californians that pray for Delta breezes. Not tonight ...

Your floating cup is too cool. How the heck did you do that? And the fabric is adorable, both in real life and in CSI Blue.
