Temptation
Good morning my sew sweet friends! How are you? This morning I'm obsessing a little about the granny square blocks that are showing up online. Have you seen them?
I used 2 inch squares for my test block, I think like Randy I would try 1 1/2 inch if I really go for it. I confess that I cut regular setting triangles for my background pieces though, I like to try and control the bias edges. Years ago American Jane had a wonderful pattern for an even more intricate version. LOVE!
The scrappy blocks are my favorite, and I'm seriously considering this. I could cut up a bunch of squares and just go for it. It wouldn't even take long, right? What about you? Let me know if you're doing it? I might be persuaded by peer pressure. xo

Oh how I am tempted. I have more than a few projects going right now and you are enticing me to add yet another. Love these squares.
i am just lovin' these blocks! they are quite fun to make!
yours look so cute in those bright prints!
I love your fabric, your block, and that adorable bird pin!!
I can see why you're tempted. The block would work up beautifully in PKM scrappiness. I'm not sure I have time to be tempted by these, but I'll sit by the sidelines and cheer you on.
I have that one pinned and book marked too. :) I am sooooo tempted! I will probably cave and join in on this one.
I'm really loving the granny squares too! And yours is pretty darn inspiring.
Tempted and already cutting into my PKM fabrics this morning at o'dark hundred (well, 6:30 am before work!) I think I dreamed of it all night! Yours is really adorable Pam!
the internet is full of evil people tempting us.... i am caught in it's snare ... http://blog.patsloan.com we need to start a group "those easily influenced by sew alongs" TEISA
want to co-chair with me?
where did you get that darling bird clothes pin! OMG!
I love it and I too need to know, where did you get that clothespin??? Seriously!!!! Adorable.
Saving my PKM scraps for another one! Can't help it - they are too cute. And that American jane quilt is a stunner.
Oh I'm definately doing this one, I love this cute design. Being an envious non-crocheter this certainly fills a craft void of mine :) going to start this week! Your line would be super duper sweet, would love to see what you come up with! Jessie, xo
Hi Pam! Oh, you should do it. Your fabrics would be so cute in something like this.
I'm obsessed with that exact same Granny Square quilt and I started gathering fabrics this morning! I'm using a bunch from my stash AND I'm using a bunch of PKM fabrics too!
I can't believe you're even thinking twice about doing it - Just go for it and start cutting those squares! Do it! Do it! Do it! I'll be doing the same thing this weekend!
I'm very much tempted. I visited your links. I hadn't seen this before, but love the simplicity of it. It will show off your fabrics beautifully. Also wanna know about the clothespin.
I love this block and I would love to make a quilt using it, but I must say I'm just a little scared yet.
I really like your idea of doing these smaller! I can't wait to start! I also liked your idea about controlling the bias - bias freaks me out so I try to avoid anything to do with it for the most part - I have a stupid question - since I have never worked much with bias and setting triangles... is there a formula for figuring out what size to cut the triangles if you are doing 2 inch or 1.5 inch squares? :o)
