Some Sewing Content

I have to be honest, I haven't spent much time in the sewing room the past month. So here's Cyndy, who has! This is a lovely piece made with shot cotton. My timing was perfect, I ended up at The Quilter's Inn when the machine quilter dropped this off. The machine quilting is wonderful.

So what are you up to peeps?

They say that quilting makes the quilt. Boy is it true in this example. Any other design would not be half as dramatic as this is. Just wonderful.

I'm putting two quick projects together getting ready for retreat in February. If you have read my blog, you'll know that, yet again, I have procrastinated! But "I will truiumph!" (What movie is that from?)

The quilt and the quilting is amazing and I love the colors. And ditto on the shot cotton - I have no idea and now I'm even more curious.

OMG, that's purty! LOVE the colors, LOVE the fabrics (naturally), LOVE the quilting. Thanks for showing us that. I've been thinking of "needing" some new shot cottons for the new year... :-)

Wowza! I love that the angular quilting suits the Kaffe Fasset fabrics so well, even though those prints are all so organic.

Ditto on the shot cotton. I managed to get 2 quilts to the quilter and picked up my niece's quilt which is huge. I have 6 other quilts ready to start! Which one will I do?

Ooooh, that is chock full of my favorite fabrics! Love the quilting!

I have been doing nothing except trying to clear out the remains of 2009 and get started on 2010.

OH YOU GUYS! It's a good thing I, as a dedicated follower of Kaffe Fassett, arrived to tell you about shot cotton. It's cotton that has two color tones in it that are apparent at different angles. Like silk dupioni, kind of.

Oh wow!! That's the 2nd quilt with shot cotton that I've drooled over this week. After the first one I perused some of Kaffe's fabric, now I'm going to order it! And that quilting is awesome. Thanks for the peek.

I'm back at work...major bummer. And getting ready to empty my sewing room down to the floor to get it refinished it. Daunting to even think about.

Okay So I'm also one of those who didn't know what shot cotton is. But I do know now thanks to Kathi D. It's a beautiful quilt and the quilting is amazing.
