Do as I say..
And not as I do. Because see, I do this. Finally finishing up the Flight of Fancy quilt has me putting all the fabrics away. For a year they've been sitting on my counter in the sewing room. I should be organizing them, but I just caved and bought another tub and took everything off the table and jammed it in. In the article in Quilter's Home, Alex quotes me as saying "free yourself" as I force her to get rid of stuff, but apparently I'm just not that ruthless around here.
Well right now anyway.

Lord help me, I do the same thing. I just went out and bought six more plastic project boxes, which is ridiculous. Just finish something and empty one out for gosh sakes Nicole.
I don't know...plastic boxes help me to feel organized. And you can see what is in this one. I say just label it and it will look intentional!
I really enjoy your blog and your outlook on life in general!
Funny. I sometimes free myself too much. I often throw away things I find out sooner than later that I needed. Tossing gets me in trouble sometimes. But I have no trouble keeping ahold of fabric. That is NOT my problem.
Just think how happy you'll be to reacquaint yourself with those fabs next time you come across that box :-)
But what if real soon you need a bit of a particular green...you know, the one that's barely showing in the middle of that tub???
That photo is torture to me.
I love that you were quoted in the article. Now I simply MUST have a copy! Whhoooo whoo!
For what it's worth, I think jamming stuff in a tub IS organized! And I know just the spot for that tub... turn right after the goat.
Easier said than done, Pam! And I saw you quoted in the article this morning - your celebrity status is growing!
Cheers!
Gotta love those tubs....you can see exactly what is in there ...that's pretty organised I think!!
Maybe you are due a visit from Alex...let her have a turn on you!!
Or just send the scraps my way...love em!
You're a girl after my own heart, more is more, right? I aim to simplify, but there's so much LOVELY fabric out there!
