Weekend Recap

Hey peeps how did the weekend go? I was pretty sluggish but Bret got a ton of yard work done! Looks like we won't need a yard work intervention after all. Glad the weather cooperated, it was very pleasant and cool. Nice end of May weather. FYI though, its going to get hot and I'm going to be complaining. Just so you know.
Someone mentioned that I haven't been keeping you up-to-date on the latest 100 calorie snack finds, can't remember who, maybe Brenda? Definitely someone at quilt market. Anyway, thanks to Elizabeth, I have this little number to show you.

Pop them in the freezer and pull them out when you need a snack. Eat them sitting down, they're just that good.
Ok, that's it so far. I have all the blocks for my next Moda Bake Shop quilt made, I need to get busy and start putting it all together. There are a lot of blocks and my attention span is pretty bad. It might take a while.
Tell me what you did this weekend Peeps.

Ah...a Monday off for me! I finished up the top for a quilt for my youngest granddaughter but alas, I made it bigger than originally planned so had to piece together the back. Good plan using a few extra blocks until I sliced off the edge of my finger (duh, pay more attention when you're in a hurry , not less) and had to quit sewing less I drip drop blood all over the fabric. With a taped up finger I am off to try again today. Looking forward to the bakeshop reveal.

Hi Pam ......................huh? oh, sorry....... I lost my train of thought .....my Monday morning attention span is even worse than my weekend attention span (which consisted of starting to plan a graduation quilt that is for a party THIS Saturday .....but decided to plant some perennials that have been sitting in their pots WAY too long......but decided to fix the birdfeeder that the bear keeps knocking down..... but decided to try and get a giveaway project together for "SEWN" .... so did some laundry so I'd have clean undies to go shopping for more fabric for that graduation quilt and some giveaway goodies.....but had to tinkle and JoAnn's fabrics now locks their BR and you have to ask for the key ....so I stopped at Kmart to use the pot but was sidetracked by some cute shirts and shorts ......so I tried them on and noticed the elastic on my underwear is pretty well shot so I bought some new ones .......and that was my weekend .....didn't get to the sewing ........(sigh)

HI PKM Wow I am too pooped to peep almost. My brother is here from L.A. and we have been doing the visit stuff...food, drink, pool, food, pie! And my daughter Paloma and her 9 month old baby have been here too...and we moved Carmen home from her college rental (the garage is now completely full...beyond full) so we are adjusting to it all. Thank goodness for the cool weekend weather...I otherwise would have melted into a puddle. Every Chico summer (for the past 30 years) I say why the heck do I live in this inferno!!! On to South Carolina on thursday for some humidity and thunderstorms and fried food. Until then...hope you get some sewing done...love that we have an inside sport for the summer, and I am going to watch all of my recorded TV shows soon. Did George and Izzi die? I'll soon find out...

This weekend, well... went! Too fast in fact. All of a sudden it was Sunday night. I'm a sucker for Peppermint Patties - I'll be on the hunt for these at my local stores for sure... :)

I can tell you I didn't take any pictures but I did some yard work and I am still way behind in that area. Watch the local lightening storms, stimulus for the fire fighters!! Cleaned the garage, found some family pictures and really enjoyed them, I think our garage is actually a storage unit. Not to exciting but I like a weekend at home getting caught up, well no, getting a bit done around the place anyway.

I spent the weekend trying to finish up yard work (mending sprinklers as opposed to socks!) and complaining about the 98 degree heat! Yup, here in Ea. Washington it was waaaaay to hot! I feel like Goldilocks - winter too cold, summer too hot! LOL! Have a great week.

I quilted a small baby quilt, one of many of stacked quilt tops to get done! I want to finish a few tops before starting a new project - I PROMISE!!

I'd like to say I was quilting, Pam, but we were replenishing the pockets in our fishing vests and checking out the fishing holes! I'm so glad I have a pocket left over - you know what's going in there - York Peppermints are almost my favorite treat! Hmmmm...think I can get away with 3 - 100 cal packs? I mean, we're out on the river all day - that burns a lot of calories, right?
Cheers!

I must get some of those Peppermint Patties! They sound so good. On Sunday, we gave my mom a surprise 86th birthday party so that was my entire weekend. Boy am I tired. We had a great time. I'll blog about it soon. Sweet Becky was my photographer, so I have to get the pictures from her. Today we went to visit/interview our new dog. Good heavens, what am I getting myself into. Whatever happened to relaxing retirement!
