Copy Catting

So peeps the weekend is upon us. The week seemed to alternately drag and fly by, what's with that? And now that it has been 90 and the a/c has come on, I feel like its the onset of actual summer, and so I say... let the complaining begin. I know I don't have it as bad as the peoples I know in Arizona or Nevada, but still. Whine I must. Sorry you have to to hear it. ( I know there are more people, I'm to hot to think of them right now. )

I super loved Jen Duncan's Moda Bake Shop project this week. Like SUPER.LOVED.IT. ( And in my mind when I refer to Jen Duncan I always say JenDuncan like its all one word.) So here I am working away on mine. I didn't have any fusible, so I had to rely on pins. Not as good. And I had to cut my own strips. Will it never end?? But it will make a nice poofy pillow for Bret. I'd get him something 'electronical' as Frankie would say, but I don't make the electronical decisions around here. He enjoys the home made gift so he will be pleased to get this. (or else. I TOLD YOU ITS HOT. I'm not myself.)

So whatever your plans this weekend, I hope you have an awesome time peoples. I'll be complaining back here again on Monday.

I am right there with you on the heat complaint...yesterday was so stinkin warm that my hands were sweating (yuck) while the kidlets had swim lessons which made it impossible to stitch (grumble grumble grumble) I should have brought my swimsuit and cooled off in the pool HA!

In New Jersey it won't stop raining and we are lucky if the temp gets out of the 60's I should be sweating my ass off by now. And, I want to!

I just keep telling myself that it could be worse... it could be hot and HUMID! Just got back from "there" and seriously, I'll take hot and dry any day. (Yes, I'd rather take cool and dry but I didn't get a vote.) That said, whine away... I hear you! :)

Super cute pillow though... gets a girl to thinking about any honey buns and 1 1/2" strips she's got just laying around.

By the way, after reading down a bit to catch up and seeing all your beautiful Australian goodies ~ color me hot and envious of your beauteous bounty ~ have you seen the second Material Obsessions book by Sarah? It's absolutely gorgeous and wonderful and amazing.

I don't know what happened to our nice hot weather - the last few weeks have been rainy and gloomy. I'll trade you for some sun!

I hate to actually admit this and lessen my chances for some sympathy, but the weather here in the AZ has been uncharacteristically cool this June ... like we're on the way to setting a record.

Having said that, I must point out that by "cool" I mean ... in the nineties. In fact, to an Arizonan, 99 is cool and 100 is not.

Strange, but true.

LOL. And I've been complaining about the COLD wet weather here. Is there anywhere somewhere in the middle? I always thought it was Colorado until Penny told me they've been having lots of rain. Ugh. But I'd totally trade spots with you right now, if I could. LOVE the pillow too!

If it gets too hot, spend some time with Frankie. Oh, and on the way you could stop by my place!

I LOVE the Moda Bake Shop project too. I guess I need one of those frilly rotary blades. I know, I know, how can it be that I don't already have one? Anyway, the pillow is on my list.

Oh my gosh. The fabrics you used for Bret's pillow are so fun and sassy they make ME want to make one! lol. Thanks for the love Pam. And if you ever need to cool off, you're welcome to point the car north and come visit us. The land of 55 degrees dontchaknow!

Sorry about your heat. There's nothing I hate worse than seeing 90 degrees on the thermometer. We have had a lot of rain here but at least it's not snow-I'm trying to look on the bright side of things. Everything sure is green here but much more of this and my flowers are going to rot in the ground. Stay cool!

Man, I love your fabrics for what is definitely THE cutest pillow design ever...and I'm with you on the weather hating. Of course I'M upstairs in the HOTTEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE so I should get some points for that.

It's hot here, too! Today I was helping my husband and our friend lift some heavy trusses for our new garage. I guess the heat got to my head, and somehow, when I helped to lift a truss, I tripped and fell. I guess they were walking too fast for me. Instead of letting go, I hung on and skinned by arm and knee. How embarrassing is that? I should have stayed inside and sewed where it's nice and cool.

Your pillow is pretty. I call her JenDuncan, too. Her tutorial is great.

I love the idea of sewing them down. I am going to use the weaving to recover a chair that I am going to put in my bedroom at a desk that I am refinishing. I will use the fusable, but seeing yours seems to make better sense if I am going to sit on it.
Have a great day.

I'll take some of that heat, if you will take some of my rain. I think it is a fair swap? I was just loving Jen's pillow too. Hoping to win it, but oh well, guess I will be making one for myself. Boy are you quick and I am just drooling over the colors.

I'll complain right along with you. I actually hate summer because of the heat. I do love the greenery, flowers and my yard, but only between the hours of 9:00 PM and about 9:00 AM.

Love your project! Those colors are yummy!

I can't really complain! We have had only rain for a few weeks now with cooler temps. I must say though, I could use a little sunshine!

I love your project! Will have to put this on my to do list!
