Good morning people!

Today is a picture free post because my own computer is having some problems. If you call a failed power supply a problem.. and I do. This comes on the heels of the check engine light coming on in my car and the check air bag light on Bret's car... which of course came on the heels of the tax refund. Well the timing was good I guess. But my car is back in business and tomorrow Bret will fix my computer so it's all good, right? No sense in complaining.
I have been a total slacker the past couple of days but I'm cracking the whip on myself today. Well after a trip to Quilter's Inn with Elizabeth, and possibly a lunch out at our Chevy's. Supplies people, we need supplies!
This afternoon I'll be working with a delightful pile of Alex's new redwork fabric for P&B, Always and Forever. Elizabeth and I are making a couple of cute things for Alex's Schoolhouse at market. I have a sneaky peek of what I was working on for Alex over the weekend, but of course it's in the power-free computer. OH well. All things in their own time, right?
SO if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, I'll be thinking of you and reading your blogs on my Sidekick. I don't want to miss out on a SINGLE THING. xo

Neighborhood News

There were ruffled feathers this week when this pair tried to make a move.

I don't appreciate having my pretty pot of petunias smashed down. Found them by surprise last week when I watered them. I had that pot down for a whole week and still they want to try and build a nest there.

Here's a job I'm glad I don't have to do. Tree trimmers up in my neighbor's tree. The two men were really amazing and the tree is beautifully opened up and still shaped so nice after a huge trimming.

The squirrels were angry about it and picked a bunch of Alice-Jane's oranges. Apparently they don't like change.

The Kindness of Strangers

Well not really strangers, but you get my drift. Today the mail brought me a nice fat pink envelope from Pam. She found something at her guild quilt show that she thought screamed me. AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was right!!! Look at the wonderful luggage tags! And just in time, market is just DAYS away, and this will go right on my suitcase.

It will be absolutely perfect with my PamKittyMorning business card in there won't it? Thanks Pam!

P.S. And the answer is Yes, I am DYING over the stickers.
P.P.S. Yes Pams do rock I won't deny it.
P.P.P.S. Some Pams get big heads. The KittyMorning kind.

Yahoo its Friday

Although really what difference does Friday make to someone who doesn't work? Well you know in a real job. Like a leave the house in appropriate clothing job. I've never considered this work because it doesn't seem like work or feel like work. Although if my 'boss' finds me at the computer instead of making those purses I'm going to be in big trouble and will probably get a note in my personnel file. And a stern talking too. I love my new purse pattern so much. I've liked my other stuff but man this one really gets me. Right in my ruffler. I hope you guys like it just as much. You'll get to see it soon. I promise. Market is in like what, 10 minutes? Sure seems like it.
Ok, I need to get on binding my quilt, a quilt for Alex, purses.. 3 left of those, then some blanket stitching. I've put it off and now my other boss will come home and find out its not done.. my file is going to be so fat with notes.
Have a good weekend peoples. xo

Out and About

Just some stuff I saw laying around at Elizabeth's house. Now a bunch of it is at my house being turned into bags. Out back my Pink Lemonade Honeysuckle is finally blooming. I love the color combo of the pink and yellow.

Ok dropping off and picking up at Diana's this morning. It will be nice to see her. Hope you peeps all have a great day.

Sweet Nothings

Ugh people. This is so wrong.
This is so Sweet, so right. I'll be back with you soon. Market is just around the corner so you'll have to wait a bit. But there is a plan for you. And I promise, you'll get your day in the sun on the Moda Bake Shop Blog. Just stop taunting me with your fabricy goodness ok. I have a plan for you.

Peeps I'm running late already, how sad is that. I'm off to Elizabeth's to work on some projects. She has some amazing things coming out. Really, I don't know how she does it.
Fair warning, if this heat keeps up you'll have to hear me complain. I just don't like it. At all. They promised some sprinkles and a cooling trend but looking out the window today it's nothing but sunshine and blue skies. Darn it.

Ok, peeps. Keep cool.

It's just like they made then for me

Introducing the official candy of PamKittyMorning.

I have no idea where you'd normally get them. I got mine at FRYS!!! Not where one might do their official candy shopping on a regular basis, but they caught my eye when we walked down the Aisle of Temptation on the way to the checkout counter. We were netbook shopping. Seriously, would a netbook be wonderful for Spring Quilt Market?
And let me just say that chasing some rain and winter weather with temperatures in the NINETIES is just not cool. Cut it out Mother Nature.

Saturday Sew Day

Peeps how was the weekend? I had a great time, Saturday I was invited to a wonderful sew day with some friends. Deb had invited me to their last sew day. Well lets be clear, I invited myself and she took a little pity on me.
Debbie had us over to her wonderful house. Sewing room for everyone. Cute grandbabies are the gold standard there! Thanks to Dan for doing the shopping and Debbie for making a wonderful lunch and the nonstop goodies to eat.

Famous Deb told us a lot of fun stories. Seriously. She's famous for something in her neighborhood and you must go to her blog and demand to know.

Deanna joined us and turns out I'd met her many times while I worked at the quilt shop. She can really crank out a project, and she can hook you up with some girl scout cookies too.

As usual, when there are bloggers there are pictures. And pictures of bloggers taking pictures.

What a great day. No pictures of Alex who wandered up the street for lunch. Her timing was perfect. She's off to Asilomar today so no sewing with us, just lunching!
It was picture perfect weather here, hope you had a great weekend peoples. Now back to work, someone has my nose to the proverbial grindstone.

The Ruiner Returns

And he's driving my dogs CRAZY.

Yesterday was hit and miss all day, sun and clouds, and the wind. Criminy.More of the same today. On the sewing front, I did get my Bubblegum basics quilt top finished. It has been on my wall for ages, why do I do that? Get almost done then do something else? Today I need to work on instructions for that. And for my new bag which I think turned out super cute if I do say so myself. And I do. I hope you will say the same. But more on all that later.

Ok, time to get busy. Hope you peeps have a groovy day. xo
P.S. Did anyone else fall in love with this on the Farm Chicks blog? I might have to make plus size version of this.

Blurry and out of focus

That's how the day started around here. A very sneezy day. Not cool. Not good for productivity. Not good for decisions.
But good for napping.

Good for enjoying the change in weather.

And the change in view.

Lets hope today moves along a little more productively. Have a good day peeps.

In the Pink

The bunny, the kid and the moms all came and went and we're back to Monday. The weekend was filled with this... And this.. and now this.

Hope you can kick your Easter candy hangover and get going today. I'm off to a late start. xo

Peeps!

Hope you have a super day. xo

Friday, April 10, 2009

Ok, lets try this again.

So yesterday I went to Elizabeth's to pick up some blanket stitching and did a little shopping at her house. Why is it my own stash isn't as appealing? Because lookie what I found there. Some nice prints from Tanya's Darla Collection.

This new version is so much better. Tomorrow it will be done, as hopefully will be the vacuuming and ham buying. Hope you guys have a super weekend. xo

Seriously

I had the hardest time keeping on track yesterday. Probably because I'd come back to the computer to work on my pattern instructions and keep finding great posts on Bloglines. Like Nanette talking about her Easter Dresses. My mom used to make them too. This picture was taken Easter 1957, I was almost 3. I found another picture where I was 8. If it wasn't for the bobby socks, the suit I was wearing made me look like I was going to secretarial school. Do they even still have secretarial schools? Then Candace had a great picture of an owl, and Jackie had a bobcat. Miss Polka Dot just got back from a good vacation, Lizzie is cracking herself up and working on her new fabric... it's very cute so check it out. Tracy is working on some software of the computer and fabric kind and her output is darling! And lastly, apparently Anna has company. She doesn't find it funny. (but I kinda do)
Back to work.

It still feels like Monday

I don't know what it is, probably allergies. They're bringing me down, along with last night's episode of House. What was up with that? Today I'm slow off the mark. There's my Kleenex and the next pile of fabric for the prototype. It needs tweaking. When it fell out of my head it was funky. I blame it on the allergy meds.
Thank goodness Elizabeth can help me with my Flower Sugar pattern instructions. Let me just say, I don't have her gift for clear concise instruction.
Ok peoples. Tell me what's up with you. And please, tell me I'm not the only one who didn't realize Easter was THIS COMING SUNDAY???? How did that happen?
P.S. HEY DID YOU SEE SANDY HAS A NEW BOOK COMING OUT???? CONGRATULATIONS SANDY!!!

Prototypes

All of a sudden I'm feeling the crazy pre-market sewing bug. I don't know why it hasn't hit me before this. I'm working on a prototype of a new bag. It's been in my head for a while, and now finally it's spilling out and onto my work surface. I had to do some stash shopping. Even though its not the actual pattern cover bag, I still have to choose cute things to work with. And isn't that what your stash is for?
It is isn't it? For using? I know, it is a shocker.. using fabric from my stash. Anyway.. can't wait to see how it turns out.. hopefully it is falling out of my head as cute as it is inside my head. No guarantees of course.

Radar

Really people, I count on you guys to keep me up to date on stuff. Imagine my surprise when I went to the book store and found this on Thursday. Seriously, it is Sew Darn Cute.

Clearly someone is falling down on the job. I'm not sure who but when I figure it out someone is going to be in big trouble. In the mean time you can find Jenny Ryan's blog here.

Garden Memories

Back in the day, late late 50's and 60's we used to have to help with the yard work. My parents would give us each a paper grocery sack and send us out to the front lawn to pull weeds. For every weed with a root we'd earn a penny. I can't imagine any kid doing that now. Frankie's eyes would roll so far back in her head they'd get stuck there!
This is what reminded me of it. Today the weather was nice so I went out back. I'm trying to do 15 minutes in the yard pulling weeds everyday. That might not seem like a lot but makes me do it everyday. If I said an hour I'd never do it. I did the minimum plus. I need to get ahead so we don't need a garden intervention like last year.

It was nice out in the sun with a happy memory. Hope you peeps have a super delicious weekend.

Now I'm It.

Laurie has tagged me to write 6 honest things about myself. Because I think Laurie is totally fab I'm going to do it. The fact that I have nothing else to blog about has little or nothing to do with this decision!! So here I go...

1. This one is no surprise, I love coffee. Peet's Coffee.

2. I also love lipstick. I always have it on. I can remember the very first lipstick I fell in love with, Helena Rubenstein Shiny Penny. It was the late 70's.

3. I also love TV. Most of my favorites stem from reading Harriet the Spy and Nancy Drew. Old time favorites like Perry Mason and Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Murder She Wrote.. and what about Scarecrow and Mrs. King? Matlock, Veronica Mars, CSI, Law and Order Criminal Intent, Crossing Jordan, QUINCY how in the world could I forget Quincy? Ok, you get the picture.

4. My Sweet temptation once a year.

5. I love to sew. Cheez-its are the Official PKM Sewing Snack Food.

6. I crack up over this little girl saying super delicious. In fact, I'll be saying it all the time from now on. Just you wait and see.

Now for the tagging.. Linda, Mary, Lori, Sherri, Darlene and Chris, and anyone else who feels so inclined!

Now people, have a super delicious day!

Out Back

Lots of these guys outback yesterday. And not just there, everywhere I go I see zillions of these butterflies in the air. Sunday when Bret and I went to Fry's the air was filled with them zooming around. We kept freaking out about the ones that flew close to the car... I'm afraid to look at my grill. I can't remember the last time I saw so many flying around like that.

I'm testing out a new camera, I still have 12 days to return it, so I'm making the most of the situation. The macro is amazing I just walk around taking close ups of stuff. Large Print Seeing.
Ok peeps, gotta get to work. Have a mighty fine day. xop
